- KitBot Details - This page hosts all of the resources for the KitBot. The KitBot is provided by FIRST and designed to be able to play some aspects of each year's game, but not all. It’s also been designed so teams can build the KitBot and then further iterate on it to add additional features if they choose.

The Q&A System for the 2026 season is open for questions about the Game Manual, Awards, official Field assets, and/or FIRST Robotics Competition District & Regional Events webpage content.

How to Use the Q&A
The Q&A is the place to ask your questions about the game and event rules, awards, drawings, inspection, and get official answers. Anyone can make their own account in the Q&A system to subscribe to questions and be notified when answers are published. To get “asking” permissions with your account (limited to 1 account/team), you have to attach your team’s authorization code to your account. An account isn’t needed to just read and search existing questions/answers. Please don’t forget to search for your question first. You may find it’s already been asked and answered (and if it’s already been asked but not answered, you don’t need to ask it again – just follow that question, and you’ll see when the answer’s posted).
Team Authorization Codes for the Q&A System are available in the Team Registration System to lead mentors 1 and 2. To access, go to the ‘Team Options’ section on the left of your FIRST Dashboard and click on ‘Payment & Product.’
Then click on ‘Passwords/Voucher Codes’ and you will find the code listed under FIRST/Q&A Key:

Team Registration Opens
The Team Registration System allows Teams to create a new or update an existing Team Profile. Lead Coach 1 and 2 must be screened. Youth Protection (YPP) screening can be found in the Team Registration System.

Drive Base & Black Tote Opt Out Opens
Drive Base Opt Out
Veteran teams, once your team is ‘event ready,’ can do the drive-base-or-voucher selection. A team is “event ready” if there are two Youth Protection Program screened mentors and no outstanding tasks on your dashboard. If you are not familiar with this concept or need a refresher, veteran teams can decide to not get the standard drive base in exchange for a $450 Voucher to AndyMark (available when other pre-Kickoff vouchers are released in November). The drive base kit is designed to allow a team to execute basic elements of 2026 game play and can be assembled by a small team in about six hours or less.
Important note: the default condition is for the drive base is to ship with each Kickoff Kit, so if you’re a rookie team or a veteran team that wants the drive base kit, there’s nothing for you to do. If you want the voucher instead, you must make take this action by the deadline. Drive Base Opt Out closes on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 12:00pm (noon) Eastern Time.
Black Tote Opt Out
We’ve expanded the above concept to also apply to the Black Tote (formerly known as the “Everyone Tote”), which for Veteran teams and along with the Drive Base Kit, is most of the Kickoff Kit. Veteran teams are invited to opt out of the Black Tote in exchange for a $125 voucher to AndyMark and a $125 voucher to REV Robotics. All teams will receive a "Season Specifics," regardless of their drive base/Black Tote selections.
Important note: the default condition is for the black tote to ship with each Kickoff Kit, so if you’re a rookie team or a veteran team that wants the black tote, there’s nothing for you to do. If you want the vouchers instead, you must make take this action by the deadline. Black Tote Opt Out closes on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 12:00pm (noon) Eastern Time.

On this date, teams who have not yet secured their team registration payment are moved from receiving their Kickoff Kits at a Local Kickoff to receiving the Kit via MySite shipment. Remember to factor in transit and processing time for your method of payment. MySite shipments incur additional shipping fees detailed on the Kickoff page.
If you need to add funds to your team’s account to cover the cost of registration, please plan ahead and allow 3-5 days for processing before funds are available in the FIRST® Dashboard
